The mission is to create a platform for scientific cooperation between authors and readers who are interested in local government. The problems of economics and management at the level of municipalities, as well as the legal regulation of management processes in various spheres of public life, related to the realization of the right of the population to local self-government, were chosen as the content priorities of the journal. An important place on the pages of the journal is occupied by the discussion of the problems of managing the municipal economy and local finances, the provision of municipal services, land use issues, the problems of delimitation of municipal property, intergovernmental relations and social aspects of the functioning of local communities.

The audience includes the scientific community of researchers and practitioners of higher education (scientists, higher education teachers, researchers, heads of government bodies, applicants for the academic degree of Doctor of Science, Candidate of Science).

The purpose of the editorial policy at the present stage is to create a platform for the exchange of results of scientific research in the field of economics and management at the level of municipalities. The tasks are as follows:

• publication of scientific articles, creation of a creative environment for the open exchange of information and knowledge about various areas of management activity;
  
• expansion of the authors’ geography, active involvement of practitioners of state and municipal administration, foreign researchers;
  
• development of the journal as a discussion platform between representatives of the scientific community and practitioners of state and municipal administration.
  

The journal is published quarterly. Publication date is the last working day of every third month of the year. Publication schedule for journal issues:

Articles in Russian, English, German and French are accepted for publication.

Prior to acceptance and publication in “Municipality: Economics and Management”, authors may make their submissions available as preprints on personal or public websites.

The publication of the journal is financed by the funds of the parent organization, at the expense of the publisher, publication of advertising materials.
