ERP SYSTEM - AN EFFECTIVE TOOL OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY DEVELOPMENT

With business expansion the company management processes become more complicated. To develop the relevant management decisions, information from various sources of large volumes is required. The use of several interconnected systems makes data exchange procedures more complicated as the integration of the segmentary systems becomes difficult and unprofitable. ERP systems provide for combining all the company’s business processes in a single and powerful system and solving the problem.
The article gives a systematic description of the ERP-systems of a classical type, provides details of the essence and features of the ERP-system operation of a new generation, of the iERP class; the advantages and disadvantages of the classical and intelligent ERP systems are analyzed; the problem of introducing ERP solutions from Russian and foreign vendors is researched. In the course of the research, systematic approach, methods of economic and comparative analysis were used.
The research object is the ERP-systems thatproviding for all business processes integration into a single information system. The purpose of the research is to identify the current trends in using the ERP systems in Russia; to demonstrate the economic effect of their use; and to draw attention to the emergence of new generation ERP systems.
According to the research results, it was found that currently, growth companies and those with branches or separate divisions are keen on the ERP systems implementation; in modern conditions, it is not business that adjusts to software and information technology, but the ERP systems and IT technologies - to business processes.
The article is of a scientific and practical nature and might be useful for experts in various fields: heads of enterprises planning to implement an ERP system to improve the business management efficiency; university teachers using ERP systems as a means of teaching students.
