ORGANIZATION FEATURES FOR THE MARKET CASH CONVERSION OPERATIONS IN COMMERCIAL BANKS ON THE TERRITORY OF A LARGE MUNICIPALITY (USING THE YEKATERINBURG EXAMPLE)

Introduction. In the modern world, the effects of global factors such as digitalization, economic sanctions, changes in logistics and payment chains in the field of foreign economic activity, cyber attacks, the use of cryptocurrencies in settlements and artificial intelligence in almost all spheres of life have drastically changed the landscape of the banking industry for the most banks so development is not a whim, but a matter of survival; especially for credit institutions operating in the local area. The issue of fee income growth is becoming more relevant, banks are choosing a less risky path of development. Conversion operations, which are essentially commission-based, account for about a third of the industry's final financial result. That is why the development of the conversion business is one of the key tasks for the territorial bank.
Materials and methods. This article aims at examining the specifics of the cash conversion market in Yekaterinburg, one of the largest municipalities in the Russian Federation, to identify the main problems and trends in the industry, and to formulate further development paths. The methodological basis of the study was made up of comparative, comparative and content analysis. The research was based on information from the official websites of commercial banks operating in the city of Yekaterinburg, regional information banking portals, as well as analytical materials from the Central Bank's website.
Results and conclusions. The article provides a comparative analysis of the ways of conducting conversion business of banks in Yekaterinburg. The results of the study showed significant differences between local and federal credit institutions. The analysis showed that federal-level banks are focused on a variety of currencies and large volumes. Small regional banks focus more on service and loyal customers.
Discussion. As a result of the research, the main problems and risks of the conversion business were formulated, and the main industry trends that will determine the future development of this type of operation were presented. The conclusions of this work can be used by credit institutions in terms of choosing ways to improve their policies in the field of commission business and conversion operations.
